Harga emas ditutup dengan kerugian pada hari Rabu (5/7), melepaskan kenaikan awalnya karena dolar dan imbal hasil obligasi naik.
Penurunan ini terjadi ketika dolar menguat menjelang rilis risalah dari pertemuan terakhir komite kebijakan Federal Reserve yang tidak menaikkan suku bunga setelah kenaikan dalam 10 pertemuan sebelumnya, meskipun diperkirakan risalah tersebut akan memiliki nada yang hawkish.
“Harga emas menguji kembali level penting di $1930 pada awal pekan ini karena dolar diperdagangkan dalam kisaran terbatas karena libur hari kemerdekaan di Amerika Serikat dan rilis PMI manufaktur membawa sedikit kelegaan inflasi dengan penurunan komponen harga. Risalah FOMC yang hawkish nantinya mungkin menyebabkan beberapa gejolak, dan data pasar tenaga kerja dari AS tetap menjadi kunci minggu ini,” demikian disebutkan oleh Saxo Bank.
Imbal hasil pemerintah juga naik, yang berpotensi negatif bagi emas karena tidak memberikan bunga. Obligasi dua tahun AS terakhir tercatat membayar 4,934%, naik 0,9 basis poin, sementara imbal hasil obligasi sepuluh tahun naik 7,7 basis poin menjadi 3,936%.
